As the President and Owner of LH Global Events, LLC, Laura Howe has built her career on the essential facets of successful event management. With over twenty years of experience, Laura has strategically planned and coordinated corporate and social events for Fortune 500 companies, national associations and international clients. She has overseen events in distant destinations such as Singapore, Geneva, London and Mexico as well as across the United States and Canada.
Laura first realized her passion for the hospitality industry while in college where she worked at a busy ocean-front hotel as a Front Desk Receptionist. The steady influx of guests, constant troubleshooting and multitasking was exhilarating...she knew then that she was destined for a career in event management. Laura quickly adopted the willingness to go above and beyond, the ability to anticipate guests' needs and most importantly to stay calm and composed under pressure, characteristics of every exceptional event planner.
Laura graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management & Policy and holds an Event Management certificate from The George Washington University. In 2004, she earned the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation.
Laura worked for a healthcare non-profit association and a global project management company for several years, gaining experience in meeting/event planning. After moving to Boston in 2005, she took a position with Platts, a division of S&P Global (formerly McGraw Hill Financial), to lead their North America Conference Operations department and then later was responsible for their Global Event Operations, before launching her own event management company.
Good at wearing multiple hats, Laura is adept at being resourceful, responding quickly and creatively to find solutions to any challenge. Her genuine ability to connect, understand and build lasting relationships with people at all levels ensure an amazing experience for you and your guests. She excels at logistics and operations and her attention to detail means that events go smoothly from conception to completion. Laura has produced a wide variety of events to include business meetings, leadership retreats, annual conferences, satellite symposia, receptions, product launches, award ceremonies, galas and company-wide outings.
She is an active member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) - New England Chapter and the Senior Planner Industry Network (SPIN). Laura previously volunteered as SPIN's Director of Membership - it's her way to give back to the industry that she loves.
